Yesterday was Pajama Day at school, and guess who forgot? Yeah, me! These days I can’t seem to remember anything! I seriously need it tattooed on my forehead! It’s enough for me to try to remember everything that I have going on, and then you add in 3 more people…yeah, it’s craziness! So, after today {feeling like a complete slacker mom, because it’s not the first time} I decided that I’ve GOT to get some organization to my life. I need a place where I can see exactly what everyone has going every second of every day. A weekly schedule, a calendar, a life plan. Are you with me?
In my laundry room, the current project, I have two doors. One leading to the garage and one housing the heating system. I’ve decided that I want to use those two spaces as my command center. I went looking for some ideas of what I’d want and here are a few that I really like.
I love the pattern on that cork board and the industrial wire baskets.
The nailhead’s are fun on the cork board and what playful art with the children’s silhouettes.
This one I like for the simplicity. There’s plenty of space to write out everything…menu, activities, appointments…
These wood clipboards are adorable, and I have about 50 of them that I’ve been wanting to do something fun with. These would be great for holding the boys monthly school calendars, weekly menu, or the weekly cleaning list {my husband is hopeful}.
I’m really wanting to do black chalk paint on the doors and I love the verse at the top of the chalkboard. Keeps the space playful and artsy, and I love that I can change it up whenever I feel like it.
Here are a few other items that I think would work well for our command center….for holding keys {which I can never find}, school papers, school calendars, backpacks, and more. I can’t wait to get started!!! This life needs some O.R.G.A.N.I.Z.A.T.I.O.N.

Organization is one of my NYR. So far, so good. I just made the comment yesterday, when everything around me is organized, my life feels calmer. It is amazing. We were snowed in for 3 days, so I got my surroundings organized… my bills/budget done for the year… our store business plan, and I feel a weight has been lifted. Good luck. You have some fabulous ideas.
I completely understand it making you feel better! I always feel better when everything is in its place. I’m hoping I can do better this year too!
I have been wanting to paint my back door with Chalk paint to keep a schedule, reminders or notes on. I think I may have to just break down and do it. Love the clip board idea also. That would get a few things off the front of my extra refrigerator that is in my laundry room. A couple of hanging baskets could catch the stuff needed to be put away quickly or mail instead of laying it on my kitchen counter. Then to really get into the habit of using these things daily.
I did an AMAZING job of dressing Joey and Emme up for black and white day last week. They were all decked out. Then they come home and told me black and white day was this week.
Well, look at the bright side – at least it wasn’t pajama day!
