I am back from the Blissdom Social Media Conference feeling inspired and motivated about growing my blog! I can’t wait to share with you all I learned and share my plans on shaking things up on refunkmyjunk.com. What better way to get back into the blogging mood by sharing one of my favorite things? Really it’s two of my favorite things. The color Emerald and a furniture Refunking reveal! Emerald is the color of 2013 and although it’s only 3 months into the year I am already addicted!
But then I received my pallet shipment of CeCe Caldwell’s Paints and it included the new Limited Edition color Emerald Isle. So my Carolina Sun Yellow plans came to a screeching halt.
I painted the piece with just one coat and sealed it using the metallic copper pigment color that I whipped up in last week’s blog post.
Look at how much lighter the paint dries. When you apply your wax finish it will bring the color back to life. Just look at the difference between where I brushed on the copper tinted wax!
And here is the finished piece. Isn’t the color simply amazing? It might be right up there with Turquoise. It goes with nothing yet goes with everything.
The Emerald veers on the side of a Kelly Green, don’t you think?
I love how the wax brings all of the imperfections in the wood to life and gives it an authentically worn appearance with a modern twist.
Have you been brave enough to try Emerald in 2013? It’s not as scary as you think.
Oh, and if you are local make sure you follow OKC Farmer’s Public Market on Facebook so you can find out all of the details of their monthly garage sale. Some of their antique vendors clear out their inventory and hipsters clean out their closest. It’s one that you don’t want to miss!
