Happy Friday Refunkers! I have a furniture before and after makeover that is going to leave you thirsty for Milk Paint! Come on over and see how I refunk an old dresser into a time-worn beauty in less than 1 day!
I purchased this piece from my Mom’s friend who was moving into a new home and didn’t have room for it.
I used Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint in Ironstone for the body and Kitchen Scale for the drawers. In case you missed my Milk Paint Mixing Tutorial on Wednesday, you can find it here.
After about 30 minutes of drying I could see the Milk Paint start to chip and flake. I love that this paint is always a surprise and this is what gives this paint such a authentically worn finish.
After a little more drying time I took a fine grit sanding block to it. Also, don’t mind my hair in this photo, I don’t dress up to paint furniture… Hate to break it to ya!
I always sand Milk Paint lightly in a circular motion to ensure I get all of the chips and flakes off.
And look at that finish!
Don’t you love how she turned out? I wish I was having another baby right now so I could use this dresser as a changing table!
I love Milk Paint and this project made me fall in love with this paint all over again!
What will you paint with Milk Paint this weekend?
