My laundry room is still ‘in the making’. The cabinets have been painted and rehung and the walls are waiting to be painted. I’ve been thinking about the art that I want on the walls and I’m leaning towards some diy art. Purchasing art can really eat into your budget. There are so many art ideas out there and here are some of my favorites…
Painting is always a pretty inexpensive option. Wish some little bottles of acrylic and a canvas or wood and you’re in business. Canvas’ can be expensive, so look for coupons or wait till they’re 50% off at Hobby Lobby, if you’re lucky enough to have one nearby. Painting is very intimidating to many, so it’s definitely something where you just have to let go of control.
If painting is not your cup of tea, these other ideas are simple to create and make quite the statement!
This might be the easiest and quickest way to create a bold art piece. All you need is a canvas frame, staple gun, fabric, or a scarf. You can instantly create a large scale piece of art that could cost you $50 instead of hundreds.
I love this next art piece! This piece can be created for next to nothing! Where as if you decide to purchase it, you’ll be dropping $100 or more! These prints you can find all over the Internet from Pottery Barn to Art.com.
And nothing says ‘Traditional Home’ or ‘Southern Living’ more than classic framed ferns.
What artwork have you had your eye on? If you’re thinking about delving into diy art, pick out what you want from a magazine, catalogue, or the Internet and see what you might need to recreate it. It might just be easier, and less expensive than you think! And also allows you the versatility to change art as your moods, styles, and the seasons change.
