I love a quick, simple project! This DIY pillow, with supplies all from Tulip For Your Home , was simple to make and took just a few minutes to create!
Here are the items you’ll need to create the look:
2 Tulip Stencils (Background stencil & Foreground Stencil)
Tulip Stencil Adhesive
2 Tulip Soft Matte Fabric Paints
Tulip Pillow Cover
Tulip Paint Roller
First you’ll want to use wax paper or cardboard as a protective layer to prevent bleeding on your pillow. Next you are ready to spray the back of your stencil with adhesive so it’ll prevent it from sliding around on you when you paint. Once you’ve sprayed the back, position the stencil and press it into place.
Tip: Because you’ll be putting another stencil on top, think about the color you’re using for the background. You’ll want to choose a lighter color for the background and a brighter, darker color for the foreground.
Pour the paint onto a paper plate and begin rolling your roller. Make sure not to saturate your roller, which will help prevent bleed through. And then begin rolling over the stencil till the stencil is covered. Allow a few minutes for the paint to set before removing the stencil.
Wait for the background to dry and then you are ready to repeat the steps for the foreground stencil.
And voila! You’re done! This project would be great for all kinds of projects, from pillows to table runners to memo boards; and simple enough that even the kids can help create!
