Tips on Using Brochure Templates for Marketing Materials
I am obsessed with marketing. Some might even say I am a marketing snob. I see a font on a billboard and I automatically know it’s Papyrus (the mom jeans of all fonts in my opinion).
When a postcard from a local business is mailed to my home I switch into my business lady pants and admire it’s layout, message, and branding.
Branding is my thang, ya’ll. I have a lot of opinions about it.
When I found an old brochure I created for my business back in 2010 I cringed a little bit. It was a total cringathon.
I admit, it wasn’t my finest work. But hey, I had to start somewhere. Plus, back then there were very limited resources for creating customized marketing material if you weren’t a professional graphic designer.
I really believe today is the best time to own a business. Primarily because there are so many resources for creating customized and professional branding assets without having to hire a pro to execute it for you.
Since it was time for me up upgrade my marketing material I relied on the interwebs to help me do-it-myself.
Boy, the tools available online for creating your own marketing assets online have had a major upgrade! I chose Vistaprint.com to create a new brochure for my furniture painting workshops. It doesn’t matter how many people visit my website to learn about my classes, if I am talking to someone, in person, they want something tangible to take with them. I have literally given people my brochure, had them go home, read the material, get back in their car the next day with my brochure in hand, and come back to me and book a workshop because of my brochure.
In a world where online presence is king, tangible take-aways are still valuable to your customers!
The main reason I choose Vistaprint for creating promotional material is because it’s pretty much fail-proof.
Vistaprint should write one of those “Promotional Material for Dummies” books because of their easy to use templates.
They have a ton of sizes, fold options, and paper stocks to choose from. Just in case you were wondering – I chose the 8.5″ x 11″ Bifold with Standard Glossy Paper option. But you can play around with the different sizes until you find exactly what you are looking for. You can even add a brochure holder to fit your custom size brochure at checkout!
Lemme give you a quick tour of how Vistaprint’s templates work in this walk thru video. PS: I have a cold so my voice is a little raspy.
SEE. It’s so easy!
What size of photos do I insert?
No guessing on what fonts to use.
Or what to write about.
Where do you place the header?
