We’re all busy with an insane amount of activities, and if you’re like me, you’re in need of some MAJOR organization! We have so much going this year! I am blogging, painting furniture, designing for clients, and working Mother’s Day Out several days a week…talk about all over the place! The boys come with their fair share of activities too in the form of preschool/pre-k, gymnastics, appointments and more. I have always been one to fly by the seat of my pants. I like spontaneity and going with the flow. I’ve never been one much for schedules and calendars, but with all we have going on I have resorted to some goals to keep me organized and in order through this school year.
One of the things that I absolutely can not stay on top of is laundry and housekeeping. You know it’s bad when it even drives me crazy! So, I thought that it might help to have some schedules on the fridge to help keep me motivated and on track each day so I don’t get behind. These schedules are from Mallory and Savannah over at Classy Clutter.
I used to be so good at meal planning, but somewhere over the last year it has fallen by the way side. A lot has to do with the fact that Adam is usually not home to eat, so we squeeze by with some veggies and stuff for the boys and me a sandwhich or bowl of cereal. But let’s be honest…I’m about sick of sandwhiches and I’m sure my kids would appreciate a real meal once in a while…I know I would!!! What always happens is I wait till an hour before it’s dinner time and then there’s nothing there. HAVE.TO.GET.A.SCHEDULE! I love this idea from One Crafty Cook of having meals each week to draw from.
Or this idea that has a collection of ideas and plan out the whole month. This would also allow for shopping ahead for sales!
And, are you like us? When we’re ready to walk out the door NO ONE can find their shoes. I’ll be honest, sometimes I can’t even find mine! I would LOVE one of these Hemnes Shoe Cabinets from IKEA for right close to the door!
One room that is a perpetual mess is our office…it is always a cluttered mess. It’s where all the mail gets dropped and there is no order to what comes in and what needs to go out. I love these file containers from Stacy at Not Just a Housewife. Not only will we be organized, but we’ll look really cute while we’re at it!
I think it would be great, especially as my kiddos grow, to have an organization station where we keep track of every little thing that is coming in, going out, and just what everyone has going. I happen to love this one from Better Homes & Gardens.
I know with electronics and the smart phone is it so simple to keep track of all that’s going on. But, I would MUCH rather keep track of my schedule on paper. Always have and probably always will. Adam keeps trying to convince me that it would be so much simpler if I’d just switch over to the electronic way. But…not gonna happen! If you have never had an Erin Condren Life Planner than you’re missing out! I love these things! You can pick from all sorts of cute covers and even customize with your family name and pictures. Definitely the way to go!!!
Stay tuned to see how I keep up with being organized. I know my husband is hopeful, but not betting his life on it. I’ve got a few projects in the works that I’ll share in a few weeks! Happy organizing everyone!!!
